Welcome to the SEC Group website

The UK construction industry comprises a complex blend of specialist engineering and technological expertise.

Therefore, the role of the specialist engineering contractor becomes increasingly crucial to the quality of the built environment and the ultimate satisfaction of clients.

Indeed, it is estimated that the specialist engineering sector now accounts for over 25% of construction output.

The Specialist Engineering Contractors' (SEC) Group exists to raise awareness, especially among clients and their professional advisers, of the importance of specialist engineering to the overall construction industry, and to promote productivity, profitability and best practice throughout the process.

SEC Group believes that significant improvements to the construction process can be brought about through the full participation of specialist engineering contractors in integrated supply chains.

In particular, SEC Group believes that such an approach would lead to enhanced design quality, reduction in waste, increased energy efficiency and sustainability, improved health and safety practices, equitable payment and risk/reward arrangements, with a greater focus on continuous improvements in performance.

It is SEC Group's policy to form alliances –both long-term and project-based – with other trade and professional organisations, including client bodies, whose aims and objectives coincide with its own, in order to facilitate a holistic approach to enhancing the perfcormance of the sector.
